General program description

Medicaid is a state and federally funded healthcare program that provides assistance to certain low-income and medically vulnerable people. Ohio’s Medicaid program provides a wide array of medical benefits, including doctor visits, prescriptions, prenatal care, and preventive care.

Programs within Medicaid have been designed to serve certain groups of people who are in need of healthcare services. Covered Families with Children (CFC) , a federally funded initiative that includes Healthy Start and Healthy Families, provides services to children younger than 19, pregnant women, and adults between the ages of 19 through 65. People who are eligible for Medicaid may also be eligible for transportation assistance to and from medical appointments.


Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility requirements vary from program to program within Medicaid. To find out if you, your family, or a relative may be eligible, apply online, or fill out an application in person. You will not be required to stay for an interview.
